WARNINGS REGARDING SERVICING OF SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) EQUIPPED VEHICLES
WARNING!
(1) Improper service or maintenance of any component of the SRS, or any SRS-related component, can lead to personal
injury or death to service personnel (frominadvertent firingof the airbag)or to thedriver andpassenger(fromrendering
the SRS inoperative).
(2) Service or maintenance of any SRS component or SRS-related component must be performed only at an authorized
MITSUBISHI dealer.
(3) MITSUBISHI dealer personnel must thoroughly review this manual, and especially its GROUP 52B Č Supplemental
Restraint System(SRS)before beginning any service ormaintenance of any component of the SRSor anySRS-related
component.
NOTE
The SRS includes the following components: Front impact sensors. SRS-ECU, SRS warning lamp, air bag module, clock spring,
and interconnecting wiring. Other SRS-related components (that may have to be removed/installed in connection with SRS service
or maintenance) are indicated in the table of contents by an asterisk (*).

ACCELERATOR CABLE CHECK AND
ADJUSTMENT
1. Turn A/C and lamps OFF.
Inspect and adjust at no load.
2. Warm engine until stabilized at idle.
3. Confirm idle speed is at prescribed value.
Standard value:
<4D5> 750 100 r/min
<6G7> 700 100 r/min
4. Stop engine (ignition switch OFF).
5. Confirm there are no sharp bends in accelerator cable.
6. Check inner cable for correct slack.
Standard value:1Č 2 mm
7. If there is too much slack or no slack, adjust play by
the following procedures.
(1) Loosen the lock nut and fully close the throttle lever.
(2) Tighten the adjusting nut until immediately before
the throttle lever starts to move.
(3) By loosening the adjusting nut one turn, the
accelerator cable play will be brought to the standard
value.
(4) Fix the adjusting nut with the lock nut.
(5) After adjusting, check that the throttle lever is touching
the stopper.
